Independence Day Celebration

The Town of Cheraw is hosting its annual Independence Celebration on Monday, July 3, 2023. Join us as we kick off the Independence holiday with the traditional downtown children’s parade at 11:00am on Monday, July 3, 2023. The parade begins in the parking lot behind Flemming Funeral Home and proceeds to the Town Hall. All children are welcome to ride their bikes, trikes, or wagons/strollers in the parade. Parade participants should arrive by 10:30am to sign-in. Prizes will be awarded for the most Patriotic costume and best decorated bike, trike, or wagon. Child participants in the parade will receive a coupon redeemable for a free treat at The Caffeinated Cow. We hope to see you at the parade!

The festivities continue later Monday evening with our family fun celebration at Cheraw High School stadium (646 Chesterfield Hwy) from 6:00pm - 10:00pm with music, kid games, waterslides, and food trucks.  The stage will host “The Chairmen of the Board” band playing your favorites starting at 7:00pm. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets or towels and enjoy the celebration! Spectacular fireworks display with dazzling special effects and bright lights, by Zambelli Fireworks will be the grand finale that will start around 10:00pm. Admission to the celebration is free with a small fee charged for games, water slides and face painting.

- There is plenty of space on the event field for everyone to spread out (bring lawn chairs)
- You can view the fireworks from inside the football stadium or from your vehicle in the parking lot
