Start your new year off right with a spot at one of these seven best New Year’s Eve events in South Carolina that the whole family can enjoy.
Renowned as the biggest, best free NYE party in the state, Famously Hot is famously hot for a reason. Guests can enjoy the biggest fireworks show in the state right in front of the state house, along with live music, pop-up parties at local restaurants and clubs, extended hours for downtown retail shops, and plenty of fun for all ages.
It’s always a good time to visit Brookgreen Gardens, but New Year’s Eve makes a visit here extra special. From 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., visitors can explore the sculpture garden that’s aglow with thousands of hand-lit candles. Christmas lights and music let the holidays linger a little longer, and light refreshments for purchase can keep you filled until you get to your next NYE destination.
At 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, there will be a glorious firework show at Barefoot Landing. Barefoot Landing is located along the Intracoastal Waterway, which is home to over 100 stores and 25 restaurants! Plenty of food and fun to choose from to ring in the new year.
Dec. 31, 2017 is the last day of the season that visitors can see the fantastic light and holiday-themed activities and decorations on display throughout the town. Head to Harbour Town to ring in the new year! The event itself runs from 7:30-10 p.m. Also enjoy a special New Year’s Eve celebration from 6 p.m.-1 a.m.
The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina is performing the musical, “Newsies” and New Year’s Eve Is the LAST chance to see it! This is a perfect New Year’s Eve activity for those looking to relax and enjoy a wonderful performance of a beloved show! All are welcome and tickets can be purchases on the Arts Center’s website.
Broadway at the Beach is known as one of the most attractive shopping destinations of Myrtle Beach, but it’s also home to the best NYE fireworks shows on the beach. It’s low-key, fun, festive, and best of all, free.
The kiddos like to celebrate New Year’s Eve every bit as much as adults, but they might not be awake by the time 2018 finally shows. Take them to EdVenture for a Noon Year’s Eve celebration. They can watch the ball drop at noon as they enjoy the myriad exhibits and wonders of the museum.
