About Us: The Bus Stop Gallery held its' first show in the Fall of 2003 and held its' 10th show April 26 thru May 6, 2007 in conjunction with the Columbia Arts Festival.
It was named The Bus Stop Gallery because it actually is at the city bus stop and many times there are people sitting on the front steps waiting for the bus!
The Bus Stop is only open during show runs as owner Jan Swanson likes the spontaneity and the planning of "the next show". While some of the artists are consistent in each show, the Bus Stop likes to shake things up so that every show is noticeably different from the last."
The Bus Stop likes to show work by emerging artists as well as proven artists. "I first started thinking about doing something like this when I was taking art classes at USC. When the house became vacant after 25 years of rentals I realized it was the perfect space and couldn't pass up the opportunity to open the gallery. The shows have been going great ever since."
