Ellis-Nicholson Gallery
1.5 Broad St
843-559-6067

Ellis-Nicholson Gallery welcomes you and invites you to view contemporary fine art by regional, national and internationally renowned artists. The reputations and recognition of the artists span many levels, from emerging artists to those who have gained national or international recognition and have been included in prominent museum and public collections. We offer you a premier selection of oils, acrylics, mixed media, bronze, metal, clay and hand crafted jewelry.

Our gallery is located in the heart of historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina at 1½ Broad Street. The building erected in 1853 has a long history. Its first occupant of the first floor, where the gallery now is, was Samuel G. Courtney, bookseller and the upper floors housed Walker & James, publishers. In 1856 the building was acquired by Walker Evans & Cogswell, printers and publishers. How fitting that an art gallery now occupies a portion of this building which, from the beginning, had roots to the family of the arts.

The gallery opened July, 2007 with the goal to become known as “the gallery where art is fun” and to build relationships with our clients that will last for years. We look forward to offering you an exciting gallery in a city that is rapidly becoming known as one of the premier art destinations in the country.
